British Transport Police detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a train from Crewe to Manchester have released a CCTV image of a man.

Just before 7pm on Saturday 14 March, a man boarded the train at Crewe railway station, having travelled from Liverpool, and sat next to a teenage girl.

He then sexually assaulted her before leaving the train at Manchester Piccadilly.

Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believed he may have information that could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 639 of 17 March.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
