Cheshire Police investigating a robbery in Crewe, has released a CCTV appeal of man they are looking to speak to.
On Wednesday 24 December the victim, a local man, was riding his bike in an alleyway between Buxton Avenue and Lea Avenue, when he was approached by an unknown man.
The man claimed to be on prison release from Preston and asked the victim for tobacco. When the victim said that they didn't have any, the suspect then stole his bike and rode off.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers believe that the man in the CCTV image may have vital information to aid their investigation.
They are urging anyone who recognises him or thinks they may know who he is to get in touch.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "We believe the man in the CCTV image may have important information.
"If you think you recognise the man in the CCTV image or know who he is please call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting 25001048729 , give us the details viawww.cheshire.police.uk/contact/tell-us or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV image to get in touch."
