A driver was cut free from their car following a two-vehicle collision near Nantwich.

On Tuesday 4 August, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on the A51 Chester Road, Alpraham.

At 5.02pm, emergency services arrived at the scene, discovering a Range Rover and another vehicle had collided with one another.

One person had became trapped inside a car, with fire crews cutting away the door to allow their escape.

The A51 was closed in both directions while the rescue and clean-up operation took place.

No arrests were made in the incident, with everyone involved expected to make a full recovery.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters dealt with a collision involving two cars.

"One casualty was trapped but got out of the vehicle after crews cut away the door.

"Traffic built up in both directions on the A51 and motorists were advised to avoid the area."
