A candle left burning caused a small fire at a house in Gresty Road, Crewe.

Two fire engines from Crewe went to the incident at 8.01 pm last night (September 6th).

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The building was evacuated as firefighters used a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke."

The candle was left burning next to a television.
