Boy, 17, charged with possession of 'large knife' on Crewe school street

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, after being caught with a large knife on a busy school street in Crewe.
On Friday 16 January, Cheshire Police were alerted to an incident on Dane Bank Avenue, with a weapon sighted.
At 12.15pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering youths acting suspiciously on the residential street.
Police stop searched all, the youths with a large knife located and a teenage boy arrested.
A 17-year-old has since been charged with the offence and will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 26 February.

"A Cheshire Police spokesperson said "At 12.15pm on Friday 16 January, we received reports of youths acting suspiciously in the area of Dane Bank Avenue, Crewe, where a weapon had been sighted.
"Both uniformed and plain clothed officers made to the location, and the youths were located and detained.
"The youths were stop searched, and a large knife was located. A 17-year-old male was arrested at the scene.
"The 17-year-old has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Youth Court on Thursday 26 February.'"
