Cyclist arrested on suspicion of drug driving following collision with car in Crewe
A cyclist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to hospital for "injuries to his leg" - following a serious collision with a car in Crewe.
The incident on Somerville Street, off Nantwich Road, happened at 5pm on Monday 12 June.
Cheshire Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, finding a red Hyundai had collided with an electric Voodoo bike.
The rider of the bike, a 20-year-old man from Alsager, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
He was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and has since been released under investigation.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 77-year-old woman, was uninjured in the incident.
On Tuesday 20 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5pm on Monday 12 June police were called to a collision on Somerville Street, Crewe.
"The incident involved two vehicles, a red Hyundai and an electric Voodoo bike.
"The rider of the bike, a 20-year-old man from Alsager, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his leg and has since been released under investigation.
"The driver of the car, a 77-year-old local woman, was uninjured."
