Application submitted in Crewe for large house to be used as children's home: including a cinema room
Plans have been submitted for a large house in Crewe to be used as a children's home - catering for up to four young people.
Mr Ian Scragg, of Excel Escort Solution Ltd, has applied for permission to change the use of an eight-bedroom property at Alexandra Place, Queen Street.
In a supporting statement submitted with the application, Mr Scragg said: "We are passionate in delivering support that offers a safe, warm, and caring environment for children and young people aged eight to 18, with either emotional and behavioural difficulties or low to moderate learning difficulties.
"The home will endeavour to provide a deeply nurturing environment whereby children can thrive with a suitably trained team who will provide consistency and a caring approach to their support for each child."
Each child's bedroom will have an en-suite toilet and wash hand basin.
A cinema room will be included in the property in addition to the lounge area and there is a large kitchen which will form the main hub of the home.
Mr Scragg says in the written statement to Cheshire East Council: "The home has been recently modernised with new amenities installed to a high standard.
"There is lots of outdoor space for children to enjoy games in the large garden.
"The property has sizeable space for off road parking.
"The home will have staff on site on a 1:1 basis with two staff members remaining to sleep over each night, which can be increased if the need arose."
The application, number 22/1972N, will be determined by a planning officer under delegated authority.
The last date for submitting comments is July 13. A decision is expected to be made by August 8.
