'Aggressive man' charged after police deployed to incident at Crewe pub

An "aggressive man" has been charged with drunk and disorderly behaviour, after refusing to leave a pub in Crewe.

On Sunday 24 March, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident at The White Lion Weston, Main Road.

At around 3pm, a heavy police presence arrived at the scene, discovering a drunk male was being abusive to staff and customers and refusing to leave the venue.

James Lovatt, 25, refused to leave The White Lion Weston, with police arresting him for drunk and disorderly behaviour (The White Lion Weston).

James Lovatt, 25, of no fixed abode, Crewe, was arrested by officers at the scene. 

The man has since been charged and bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Monday 15 April.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 3pm on Sunday 24 March, police were called to reports of an aggressive man who was refusing to leave The White Lion in Weston. 

"Officers attended the scene and a 25-year-old man was arrested. 

James Lovatt has been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Monday 15 April (Cheshire Police).

"James Lovatt, of no fixed abode, Crewe, has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly. 

"He has been bailed and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on 15 April 2024."
