By Deborah Bowyer 27th Dec 2022

It is believed a candle started a fire at a flat in Crewe on Christmas Day which caused a person to be suffering from smoke inhalation.

Two fire engines attended the blaze, one from Crewe, in West Street at 4.32 am on December 25th.

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival, they found the fire out and the flat smoke logged so ventilated the property.

"Paramedics attended to help one casualty suffering from smoke inhalation. It is believed the fire was caused by a candle."
