47-year-old man arrested after carrying knife in Crewe town centre

Cheshire Police officers have arrested a 47-year-old man in Crewe - for the possession of a knife in the town centre.

The incident on Market Street, happened at 3:10pm on Thursday 6 July.

Officers quickly arrived at the scene following reports of a disturbance - with a knife sighted by a member of the public.

A knife was located on Market Street with a 47-year-old man being arrested for possession of a bladed weapon (Ryan Parker).

No one was injured in the incident, with the man remaining in police custody.

On Friday 7 July, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At 3.10pm on Thursday 6 July, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Market Street, Crewe.

No one was injured in the Crewe town centre knife incident, with the man remaining in police custody (Cheshire Police).

"Officers attended the scene and arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.

"The man remains in custody at this time.
