A 12-year-old boy from Gloucestershire recently enjoyed a special family day out at an online electricals retailer HQ in Crewe.

Fenn, from the Forest of Dean, is a huge fan of AO's green vans.

Last month (December), AO's Crewe HQ invited his whole family down to its logistics hub on Weston Road to make his twelfth birthday one to remember.

Fenn has a rare form of Complex Intractable Epilepsy. The 12-year-old had always wanted to see the green delivery fleet up close.

His mum, Sally, reached out to AO - explaining his fascination with the vehicles.

In the hope of putting a smile on the young fan's face before Christmas, AO invited Fenn, his parents and his three brothers down for a day out at their logistics operation.

This unique opportunity its allowed them to explore the different vans and experience the Crewe warehouse in action.

The morning started with the chance to explore the cab of an articulated truck and a smaller 3.5 tonne van.

Fenn and his brothers went for a spin around the AO site - thanks to driver Adam.

The family then went on a tour of the 360,000 sqft Alpha warehouse, where appliances are picked and loaded before being delivered to customers across the county.

Fenn's mum, Sally, said: "As a huge fan of AO vans, to be able to go inside one and have a ride was a dream come true.

"Seeing behind the scenes in the warehouse was a bonus which was not only interesting but educational.

"The whole team were so welcoming and accommodating of Fenn's needs and made it a magical experience that he will never forget."

Sally's sons, aged seven, 10, 12 and 14, received a gift bag full of green goodies, including their own Christmas jumpers and van toy to take home.

Lynne Wood, Director of Service Delivery at AO Logistics, said: "When we heard about Fenn and his love for our vans, we knew we had to do something special to celebrate his big day.

"We hope the whole family enjoyed the experience, and we wish them all the best this Christmas."

Crewe is home to AO Logistics' head office and distribution centres, Alpha, Omega and Latchford.
