Two salons from Crewe that have been ranked among the very best in the UK - at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2022.

Beauty Central, Coronation Crescent, and Crown Nails & Beauty Salon, Market Street - came eight and eleventh in the grand finale out of all the salons that applied for the award across the UK.

After judges were sent a package of the top 50 salons prior to the grand finale, they then ranked them in order with the top three winners.

"It's such a honour to even become a finalist - let alone come in the top 10 nail salons of the year," says business owner of Beauty Central, Natalia.

Natalia is on good terms with business owner of Crown Nails & Beauty, Jen Nguyen - after being her student in the past.

The highest ranked salon from Crewe has more than 10 years in the hair and beauty industry.

Natalia told Nub News: "When I was watching the awards evening (virtually due to covid) my heart nearly stopped beating when I saw my salons name in big writing.

"I can not wait to get my eight place certificate to display pride of place in the salon along side my finalist certificate."

"My success has come from hard work and determination - mostly due to all my loyal clients who continue trust me with all their beauty treatments. 

"Especially nails, as creating unique nails is my absolute passion. So I owe my thanks to all my clients.

"I feel absolutely amazing to be representing Crewe in this award bringing the spotlight to our town."

Despite the competition in Crewe, Natalia and Jen remain good friends today.

Natalia added: "I'm so proud of Crown Nails for coming eleventh, it's such a honour to be running an amazing nail salon.

"Jen is just incredible at nails and I'm so pleased that we are both able to bring the spotlight to our town. 

"She is an incredible teacher and trainer - I learnt from the best and it's a huge achievement for us both."

Jen opened Crown Nails & Beauty Salon in 2009 and has enjoyed great success since - founding her own product range 'WowBao Nails' in 2020.

She told Nub News: "I'm very pleased with the ranking. There were thousands of contestants and eleventh place is amazing."

The salon has been ranked in the top three best nail salons in Crewe by the Three Best Rated UK ranking company for the past five years.

Jen said: "Crown Nails team has been working hard - especially through lockdown. It was difficult during this time but we made it and won this award.

"It is is such a pleasure for me and my team."

After moving to London from Vietnam to pursue a business studies course, Jen turned her part-time job in a nail salon into her full-time career in Crewe.

"I put the success down to all my staff who always put 100 percent effort in everyday," she stated.

"Seeing so many businesses close down in Crewe during the pandemic was very sad.

"I think we made this award for Crewe and it was a pleasure to be presenting the town in this award."

Jen also spoke very-highly of Beauty Central Salon, adding: "I am very proud of Natalia. She trained with me a couple a years ago in my advanced master class.

"I never take it as a competition when you are in a same area. We can be successful together and that works really well with us."

The grand final results were announced at the online ceremony on Saturday 26th March at 8pm.
