A large family-owned Crewe company has paused to talk about menopause - welcoming a qualified counsellor to deliver a talk to staff at its HQ.
On the morning of Friday 10 February, Swansway Motor Group welcomed Emma Neville to its Crewe head office, Gateway - delivering a talk about Menopause.
Menopause is a topic that often goes unspoken about.
In the UK, the average age for menopause to start is 51, but this can vary widely with some women reaching menopause before 40 (premature menopause).
Emma is a qualified counsellor, who decided to raise awareness of menopause after her own experiences.
Gaining her Menopause Support Coaching Certification, Emma spoke to Swansway team members about the effects of menopause, highlighting that there are between 30- 40 known symptoms that women can experience.
She also talked about the impacts that menopause can have on personal relationships and work, with one in 10 women resigning from their careers due to menopause.
Swansway thanked Emma for delivering 'an educational and open talk on an important topic.'
The Crewe-based company believes it is important as a business to care for its employees' wellbeing.
Along with this talk, Swansway offer an employee assistance programme powered by BUPA to all team members.
