Principal Sharepoint Specialist (IT Specialist)Pay Rate: £300-£325 per day PAYE TBCThis opening assignment is for 4 monthsCrewe CW1 2BJ
We are seeking an experienced Principal SharePoint Specialist to lead the delivery, modernisation and optimisation of SharePoint services across the organisation. In this role, you will drive the development of innovative SharePoint Online solutions, oversee complex migrations, champion best-practice information governance, and provide technical leadership that supports continuous improvement in ICT services.
To apply for this role, you must demonstrate deep expertise in administering and customising SharePoint (2013+ and Online), migrating sites using tools such as ShareGate and SPMT, redeveloping workflows and forms with Power Automate and Power Apps, Scripting with PowerShell, and delivering client-side SharePoint development using SPFx, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
Key accountabilities:
1. Lead SharePoint Platform ManagementOversee the administration, customisation and optimisation of SharePoint (2013+, SharePoint Online), ensuring robust, secure and efficient service delivery aligned with enterprise architecture.
2. Deliver Modern SharePoint Solutions & MigrationsDesign, develop and implement SharePoint Online solutions, including site migrations using ShareGate/SPMT and redevelopment of workflows and forms using Power Automate and Power Apps.
3. Develop and Support Advanced SharePoint ComponentsCreate and maintain client-side SharePoint solutions using SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Angular frameworks and PowerShell Scripting to meet evolving business needs.
4. Drive Information Governance & Best PracticeChampion effective document and records management, metadata and taxonomy standards, ensuring consistency, compliance and improved information life cycle management.
5. Provide Technical Leadership & Stakeholder EngagementLead projects, mentor junior staff, and engage with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions, supporting continuous improvement across ICT services.
Key criteria:
- Administering, customising, and developing with SharePoint 2013 and above including SharePoint Online
- Migrating sites to SharePoint Online ideally utilising ShareGate and SPMT
- Redevelopment of SharePoint workflows and Forms using Power Automate and Power Apps
- PowerShell Scripting
- Client-side SharePoint development including SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts and extensions including yeoman, gulp, Typescript.
- Experience with JS frameworks such as React, Angular etc. desirable
- Document and records management
- Metadata and taxonomy management
