Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Homologation Engineer to lead vehicle certification and market approval activities across global markets, with particular focus on China.

The role will ensure Bentley vehicles and systems meet applicable regulatory requirements and achieve market approval in line with programme milestones and launch timing. Working closely with Engineering, Product Compliance, Quality, Legal, Programme Management and external certification partners, you will manage homologation activities from planning through to approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead homologation and vehicle certification activities for assigned markets and vehicle programmes.
• Manage certification plans, deliverables, testing and submissions in line with programme milestones.
• Coordinate with certification authorities, technical services, laboratories and approval agencies.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and communicate their impact to Engineering and Programme teams.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on current and future vehicle programmes.
• Lead the resolution of certification issues, non-conformities and authority queries.
• Ensure homologation documentation is accurate, complete and delivered within agreed timelines.
• Maintain certification status, risks and programme reporting.
• Build strong relationships with regulatory authorities and certification partners.
• Support certification audits, regulatory inspections and technical assessments.
• Work collaboratively across Engineering, Product Compliance, Quality, Legal and Programme Management.

China Market - Preferred

China market experience would be highly advantageous, including:

• CCC certification and relevant GB/GB/T requirements.
• Coordination of certification testing with Chinese laboratories and certification agencies.
• China certification vehicle planning and utilisation.
• Working with China market teams and regulatory stakeholders.
• Monitoring China regulatory changes and assessing their impact on vehicle programmes.
• Supporting resolution of China-specific certification and market approval issues.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in automotive homologation, vehicle certification, type approval or regulatory compliance.
• Experience within an automotive OEM, engineering consultancy, technical service, certification body or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of vehicle type approval and certification processes.
• Ability to interpret technical regulations and translate requirements into practical engineering actions.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering and programme teams.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple programmes, markets and priorities.

Desirable Experience

• China CCC and GB/GB/T certification.
• European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA).
• International vehicle certification across Europe, China, GCC/Middle East, South America or other global markets.
• Electric vehicle, battery and high-voltage system certification.
• Experience working directly with regulatory authorities and technical services.
