CNC Setter Operator and Programmer

Adecco Crewe are working with a leading precision engineering company seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to take ownership of complex, multi-axis machining projects and work within a supportive, high-performing production environment.
The RoleYou will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating a range of CNC machines to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances. Working from technical drawings, you'll ensure that all parts meet specification and quality standards while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate complex, multi-axis CNC machinery
- Create, download, and adjust CNC programs as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, applying strong knowledge of GD&T
- Carry out in-process inspections and record results
- Adjust offsets, tool settings, and perform minor machine maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with TPM principles
- Support and train junior CNC personnel when required
- Always adhere to Health & Safety and PPE requirements
We're looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC professional with a strong background in precision machining.
Essential Requirements:
- Experienced machinist with BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification
- Hands-on CNC experience
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and G & M codes
- Proficient understanding of GD&T and ability to read complex engineering drawings
- Experience with inspection tools such as micrometres, height gauges, shadow graphs, and CNC CMMs
- Confident with maths, geometry, and trigonometry
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Experience with 6S / continuous improvement environments
- Competitive salary: 33,000 - 36,000 per year
- Overtime available subject to workload
- 30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
