A Crewe women's health and wellbeing charity has been given a 'vital boost, after securing support from Co-op members.
Motherwell Cheshire, based on Beech Drive, Wistaston, is a service for women, by women, promoting positive health and wellbeing through a range of services.
These services include educational support, holistic therapies and mental health support.
Motherwell has become one of Crewe's new local Co-op causes, supported by Co-op members and the Co-op's Local Community Fund.
CEO of Motherwell, Kate Blakemore, told Nub News: "We are pleased to be chosen as a community charity for the year to receive support from Co-op as part of the Crewe funding area.
"The funds will help us to raise vital funds for our community Share Hub, supporting local families with school uniforms, sports shoes, winter coats, as well as running a baby bank.
"The scheme is offered on a no questions asked basis. Over the summer we have helped support over 500 families.
"We are pleased to be chosen as a community charity, it means the local community can help us to help other families.
"As a charity we also offer counselling, wellbeing activities and peer support groups. This November we will be opening a community laundrette at our Winsford site."
Anyone who is a Co-op member and chooses this as a cause will help donate money directly to it.
For every £1 Co-op members spend on selected Co-op products and services, 2p goes back to members and Co-op gives the same to support community organisations and local causes.
