The funeral has taken place of the late Audrey Geldart aged 88 years from Weston, Crewe.
A Celebration of Life Service at Crewe Crematorium Chapel was conducted by Mr Steven Linde followed by cremation.
Audrey was born in Liverpool and attended local schools before being evacuated to Southport during World War II. She finished her education with two years at art college before becoming a window dresser in an exclusive dress shop.
Audrey married Reg who she had known since she was 16 and the couple were blessed with three children Kerris, Sandra and Michael. She stopped work to raise her children and the family moved to Crewe to be nearer Reg's work.
In quieter times Audrey enjoyed oil painting, watching opera and ballet and travelling around Europe with Reg.
As her children grew up she was delighted to be presented with five grandchildren and took an active interest in their lives. Even at the age of 88 Audrey remained active and independent, and was still mowing her own lawns before she passed away following a short illness.
Mourners at the funeral included Audrey's children and the extended family.
