A KIND-HEARTED Wistaston resident is continuing to support vulnerable members of the community during the pandemic.

Nadiah Mckeown setup a Facebook group as an isolation help group in March last year before the first national lockdown. She took in donations of food and other essential items to her home, and distributed her contact details so people in need could contact her and setup a JustGiving page to raise money to buy essential items.

SOUTH Cheshire Chamber of Commerce has joined with the British Chamber of Commerce in urging the government to provide more support to local businesses in retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.

As outlets across Crewe and Nantwich close for a third national lockdown, Chamber leaders are concerned the latest package of support announced by the Chancellor will fall short of what is needed to secure livelihoods.

COMMUNITY radio station The Cat 107.9FM presented its first Local Legend monthly award to a supermarket's community champion.

Angela Leighton, the community champion at ASDA Crewe, received her Cat cake from the awards sponsor, Baked by Gill, and a certificate from the station's MD Chris Cadman and presenter David Foulkes.
