Cheshire East Council is reminding its local businesses to apply for funding of up to £6,000, through the government's Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme as the deadline approaches.

The scheme – which closes for applications on Friday 18 March – provides one-off grants to support eligible rate-paying hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

Today is International Women's Day and global delivery company Hermes have celebrated the occasion by donating £1,000 to Motherwell Cheshire, after a recommendation from Crewe's MP Dr Kieran Mullan.

Motherwell Cheshire who are based at 54 Beech Street in Crewe, promote positive health and wellbeing for young girls and women. The charity offers counselling, a range of educational services, therapy and mental health support.
