Popular Crewe town centre chain store to remain open - despite closure concerns
A popular Crewe town centre chain store is to remain open - despite reports on social media that it is closing down.
Warren James, Victoria Street, is undergoing a full refurbishment within Crewe town centre - the reason why its signs had been taken down and the store has been closed.
Following the signage being taken down, some local residents took to social media to express their frustration another Crewe shop had closed down.
The British jeweller chain first opened in Crewe on May 21, 2016.
Warren James was founded in Denton, Stockport, in 1979.
It has grown to be the largest independent jewellers in the UK with more than 225 stores.
The jeweller chain has remained on Victoria Street for more than six years and began its store refurbishment last month (June).
Workers have been inside the Crewe town centre unit for the past month replacing signage and the interior design.
The black and white exterior sign has been replaced by an illuminating sign.
This news comes as a relief to visitors of Crewe town centre, which has lost the likes of Boots, Poundland, Clinton's and Argos in recent times.
The work on the Victoria Street unit is almost complete.
Crewe Nub News has contacted Warren James for comment.
