OPINION: Plans to reopen Crewe's 1937 swimming baths a 'win-win-win' situation

Plans to reopen Crewe's 1937 Art Deco swimming baths, with an additional range of sporting facilities, is a win-win-win situation for the town and its residents.
Putting Crewe First has welcomed plans to reopen Crewe's 1937 Art Deco Swimming Baths with an additional range of sporting facilities.
The three wins are:
One: A part of Crewe's architectural history would be saved from Cheshire East's ever active bulldozer.
Two: The Art Deco Baths would reopen with an additional range of sporting and leisure facilities.
Three: The special school could be built elsewhere in the town, there is no shortage of council-owned land where it could be built.

A re-opened Crewe Pool would offer two, swimming pools, a community cafe, soft play, gym, dance studio, spin studio, sauna and steam rooms, ice baths, six covered padel tennis courts, a youth xone area with a pool table and darts board, a bar area and an indoor skate board ramp area.
This is an outstanding, one-off, opportunity that should be grasped with both hands.
Putting Crewe First is the only political party in the town who has come out publicly in support. Crewe Town Council have shown no interest.
The Crewe MP has been asked to support the scheme but he has refused to do so. I find it amazing he won't support a scheme that would be so beneficial to his constituents.
At least Cheshire East Council are speaking to the not-for-profit group who are behind the scheme.

Putting Crewe First is calling on Crewe and Nantwich residents to contact their councillors and their MP to urge them to get fully get behind this great opportunity for the town and its residents.
You can find your councillors and MP contact details here, just by entering your postcode and then it is very easy to send them a message.
Yours faithfully, Cllr Brian Silvester, leader of Putting Crewe First.
