Grassroots football: unbeaten Crewe Town among early pacesetters in District League

CREWE Town remain unbeaten in the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE after a convincing 5-2 win at Mary Dendy.

Town stayed among the early pacesetters alongside FC Bollington and Champions Sandbach Curshaws after goals from Ryan Tomlinson (2), Nathan Schofield and Nathan Hughes secured a comfortable victory. Michael Gilligan and Jamie Rice scored for the hosts.

Also unbeaten, Curshaws moved up to second place after their 2-1 win at Crewe Wanderers thanks to goals from Darren Bailey and Alex Bourne.

FC Bollington remain top after a 4-2 win over Mary Dendy 1982. Scoring for FC Bollington were Kieron Shelton with a brace, while Ashley Brown and Lewis Patterson netted one apiece.

The Mary Dendy 1982 marksmen were Reece Evans and Jon MacClellan.

Sandbach Town hit AFC Crewe for five with Brandon Howman netting a double. Mike Buckley, Luke Jones and Tom Edwards were also on target, while Billy Booth scored the AFC Crewe consolation.

Betley are the new leaders of the CREWE REGIONAL SUNDAY LEAGUE after a 2-1 win over The Lions by 2-1 courtesy of goals from Danny Lavalette and Keiran Duckers.

Broadhurst FC were knocked off their perch after a surprise defeat at the hands of Faddiley.

Danny Dodd scored twice and Rich Ryan and Harry Titley-Wall were also on the sheet as Faddiley triumphed 4-2.

Cheshire Cheese and Crewe Athletic shared four goals in an entertaining game (2-2). Alex Forrester and Charlie Maines scored for Cheshire Cheese with Caine Mellor and Dale Capper replied for Athletic.

NHB FC registered their first win of the season with Alex Ball (2), George Moss and George Jones on the mark in a 4-1 win over Willaston White Star.

George and Dragon beat Talbot 7-4 helped by a brace from Robbie Hatton.

Division One leaders Audlem thrashed Princes Feathers 8-2 with Nick Gregory hitting four.

Winsford Over 3 improved their position with a 4-1 win at White Horse with goals from Will Austin, Jamie Dawson, Thomas Stanton and Will Igoe all on target.

Leighton FC eased to a 5-0 win over Ruskin Park with Ryan Ollier scoring twice and the other goals coming from Dewi Lewis, Jonny Parks and Blake Stubbs. While Jake Cope scored twice as C & N UTD won 2-1 at JS Bailey.

In the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup Cooper Buckley made progress with a 5-3 win against South Manchester Athletic with goals from Ash Edwards, Jack Gater, Brad Stockton, Niall Cop and an own goal.
