A QUARTET of Crewe's youngsters were on the scoresheet in a 4-1 warm-up win at Nantwich Town yesterday (Sunday) lunchtime.

The traditional pre-season friendly is now played for the Barry Daly Trophy in tribute to the popular Alex backroom support member, who passed away in 2019.

And goals from Tyreece Onyeka and Regan Griffiths before the break and Joe Robbins and Josh Lundstram in the second half saw the Alex lift the trophy for the first time.

Jack Hatton halved Crewe's lead just over the hour mark and Will Jaaskelainen needed to make a good stop to prevent former Crewe striker Callum Saunders levelling with a header soon after.

But Robbins profited from a keeping error before Lundstram rounded off the scoring in the closing minutes at the Optimum Pay Group Stadium where Alex boss Dave Artell fielded two different sides in each half.
