SOUTH Cheshire Chamber officials have hailed Crewe Market Hall a "real asset" to the town as they welcomed it in as a new member.

Chamber Chief Executive Paul Colman and Chamber Manager Jon Barnes toured the new facility and met traders who have made the Grade II-listed building their new home after an extensive £3 million refurbishment.

A CREWE teenager accused of murdering a man from Winsford has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court.

The 17-year-old, who is not being named for legal reasons, appeared at Warrington Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday) charged with the murder of Keagan Crimes. He is also charged with wounding with intent, unlawful wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.

CHESHIRE East Council chiefs have told a councillor to stay away from a council meeting after he threatened to attend despite testing positive for coronavirus.

Marc Asquith, who represents Chelford, revealed in an email to his colleagues that he was planning to be at the borough authority's full council meeting at Macclesfield Leisure Centre this morning (Tuesday) - although he received news of a positive Covid-19 test last night.
