A FORMER Cheshire Police officer, who was based at Crewe, has been banned from law enforcement after tracking his partner using police systems.
Andrew Birkett was found to have a case to answer for gross misconduct after using the force's systems to monitor his former partner, who was also a serving Cheshire officer.

AFTER councillors agreed to investigate grassroots sports facilities in Crewe, a community football club has revealed its ambition to move to a dedicated new site.
Crewe FC is to submit its plans to Cheshire East Council for a new base on land next to King George V Playing Fields in the wake of a decision by the authority's southern planning committee to defer a housing scheme at the derelict site of the former LMR football ground.

PLANS to build 73 affordable homes in Crewe have been delayed because councillors aren't happy the £80,000 being paid to compensate for the loss of a former sports pitch would go to Middlewich.
The Guinness Partnership wants to build the 42 independent living apartments and 31 houses on the site of the former LMR club and sports field on Goddard Street.

A RETHINK of the design of Crewe's planned new bus station and accompanying multi-storey car park has been welcomed by Crewe Town Council's leader.
The two-phase Royal Arcade planning application to redevelop the main part of the town centre was submitted in April by Peveril Securities, which is developing the site on behalf Cheshire East Council.
