Crewe has submitted a strong and ambitious bid to become the home of Great British Railways and bring a range of levelling up opportunities to the town.

Today, Cheshire East Council, alongside its partners, submitted its expression of interest in Crewe becoming the location for the headquarters for the new public body, which will be in charge of the railways in the country.

Individuals, charities, community groups and businesses across Crewe can now record their interest in supporting Ukrainians fleeing the war - through the government's 'Homes for Ukraine' scheme.

The Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, has today launched a webpage for sponsors to record their interest, ahead of Phase One of the scheme opening for applications this Friday.

The Choral Society welcomed many singers to St Mary's Church, Nantwich.

A CHORAL Society, which includes singers from across South Cheshire and Crewe, drew more than 100 enthusiasts to a special celebration of music.

Nantwich Choral Society welcomed choristers from Cheshire, Shropshire, Wiltshire, the Lake District and all points in between to a Come Sing event at Nantwich Parish Church.
