A CRACKDOWN on county lines gangs and improving confidence in policing were among the priorities unveiled in the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire's new Police and Crime Plan.

Conservative John Dwyer, who took on the role in May after defeating Labour's David Keane, officially presented the plan alongside the force's Chief Constable Mark Roberts on Monday (November 1).

CHESHIRE'S Police and Crime Commissioner has praised two local councillors for going public about the abuse and threats they have suffered and warned such behaviour will not be tolerated.

John Dwyer was speaking after Cheshire East councillors Kate Parkinson and Charlotte Leach talked to the Local Democracy Reporting Service last month about the abuse they had received since taking public office.
