Woman arrested after being caught 'driving whilst disqualified' in Crewe

Cheshire Police have arrested a woman for "driving whilst disqualified" in the local area , after the vehicle went past an ANPR camera.

On Tuesday 8 August, a Citroen hit an ANPR camera in the Crewe area, indicating a possible disqualified driver.

At 9:30pm, Cheshire Police response officers made to the area, locating the vehicle travelling towards Shavington.

The Citroen was stopped on the Willow Brook Grange Shavington estate, off Jack Mills Way.

A female driver was detained and arrested for driving while being disqualified. She was taken into police custody.

On social media, a Crewe Police spokesperson said: "At 9:30pm on Tuesday 8 August, a Citroën hit an anpr camera indicating a possible disqualified driver.

"Response officers made to the area and located the vehicle driving towards Shavington. 

A female driver was detained and arrested for driving while being disqualified. She was taken into police custody (Cheshire Police).

"The vehicle was stopped on the Willow Brook Grange estate and a female driver was detained. 

"The female was arrested for driving whilst disqualified, and she was taken Into police custody."
