Wistaston Community Events are gearing up to light up the night sky with their much-loved annual Fireworks Display on Saturday 1 November.

The event takes place at the Eric Swan Sports Ground/Brittles Pavilion, off Church Lane, behind Wistaston Church Lane Academy, and promises a fun-filled evening of entertainment for all ages.

Entry is by cash donation, with gates open at 5.30pm.

Judging of the fancy dress and pumpkin carving competitions commence at 6pm (Jonathan White).

Judging of the fancy dress and pumpkin carving competitions commence at 6pm, before the main fireworks display begins at around 6.30pm.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, soak up the friendly community atmosphere, and grab the best viewing spots.

A range of food and drinks will be available to keep everyone warm while waiting for the big show.

A spokesperson from the Wistaston Community Events team told Nub News: "We are thrilled to be hosting another exciting professional display for the village, delivered by Black Lab Fireworks.

"Please remember to bring cash for the bucket collection and refreshments, bring a torch, and most importantly, stay safe.

"We kindly ask sparklers aren't lit in the crowded viewing area. Parking is limited, so walking is the best option if possible."

The main Wistaston fireworks display begins at around 6.30pm (Jonathan White).

The Wistaston Community Events team also welcomes new volunteers to help with their popular calendar of five annual village events.

Alongside next year's Fireworks, the programme includes the Village Fete (June), Flower & Produce Show (August), Duck Race and Children's Model Boat Race (September), and the festive Christmas Concert at St Mary's Church Hall on Friday 5 December.
