What's on in Crewe this weekend?

By Gwyn Griffiths 3rd Feb 2022

AT Nub News we cast our eye over local events to produce a weekly round up of what's on in Crewe each weekend.

Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of the events being held in the area that are listed on our What's On section for the coming weekend.

If your business or organisation is running an event, why not advertise it for free with Crewe Nub News. Follow this link to our What's On section and click the black 'Nub It' button where you can add your details.

This weekend we've got more great events at Crewe Market Hall in the shape of a Status Quo tribute band at a pop-up Sunday traders' market.

1. Statease Quo at Crewe Market Hall

If you're fan of Messrs Rossi, Parfitt and co then this should be a great Friday night (February 4).

Statease Quo, who are making their hall debut, say they a tribute band with a difference as their set list features rarely-played Quo hits and some never-played songs.

And if you just want to hear the likes of 'Down, Down', 'Rockin' all over the World' and 'Caroline', then we're sure they'll do those for you too!

You can read more about the show here

2. Sam Jones at Ebenezer's

The Nantwich Road craft ale and gin bar has already staged some live music nights since it opened last September. Chester-born Sam Jones should offer an interesting solo show tonight (Thursday).

Jones is something of a roaming musical talent, having formed bands in London and in Poland where he lived for three years.

With a grunge and punk accent on his songwriting, expect a set of spiky songs.

More details can be found here.

3. Pop-up Market at Crewe Market Hall

Sunday (February 6) sees the return to Crewe Market Hall of the Pop-up Market courtesy of Small Street Markets.

There will be a host of small traders setting up stall to sell their wares between 10.30am and 4pm.

Previous pop-up markets have been a huge success, so if you feel like a good browse why not pop along.

Also worthy of mention for the weekend:

High-energy band The Icebreakers are on the Market Hall stage on Saturday (February 5) night. Rock covers band Tumblin' Dice are at the Horseshoe on North Street, also on Saturday evening.

On Friday at the Cosey Club in Haslington you can catch heavy rock covers band Deepsnake.

Remember to check out our What's On section during the week for the latest events.
