WITH more and more events being organised locally Nub News has launched a weekly round up of what's on in Crewe each weekend.
Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of the events from our What's On section for the coming weekend.
If your business or organisation is running an event, you can advertise it for free with Crewe Nub News. Follow this link to our What's On section and click the black 'Nub It' button.
Our top events for the weekend are two music gigs which will strike a chord for nostalgia lovers and a West End musical.
1. SWaY, Diamonds and Ducks, Flameproof at Coppenhall Working Men's Club
Enjoy Sunday (October 24) afternoon and evening in the company of three great bands at Coppenhall WMC.
Al Dwyer of soul act NSS joins Ade McLeod and Kev Maloney for an acoustic set with Flameproof.
Diamonds and Ducks are an all-female band who cover classics from the likes of Tina Turner and Queen, while SWaY's covers stretch across the decades from the Beatles to Kaiser Chiefs.
You can read about the gig at our What's On section.
2. Showstopper! The Improvised Musical at the Lyceum Theatre
The Showstoppers are Olivier Award winners who like plenty of audience interaction for their musical comedy. Suggestions for songs from the stalls, circle and gallery are transformed on the spot into all-singing, all-dancing productions.
The show is at the Hill Street venue tomorrow night (October 22) and you can read about it and how to get tickets here.
2. Guttersnipe at the Rising Sun Vaults
There's a varied musical offering in lots of Crewe pubs if you take the trouble to look. Remember too if you're a landlord putting on a show don't forget to add your details to our list here.
On Saturday night The Rising Sun Vaults on Earle Street will be inviting customers to travel back to the late 1970s and 80s with punk covers band Guttersnipe.
On stage at 9 pm the Shropshire rockers will be keeping their chord changes to a minimum and powering up their amps for renditions of classics from the likes of The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Ruts and the Skids and many more.
