Gresty Road: will shut this week.

GRESTY Road will be closed to traffic for at least two days this week as highways engineers start a programme of works.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays as relining work of the carriageway by Cheshire East Highways engineers starts on Wednesday (February 10).

While workmen are on site from 9.30am to 4.30pm there will be no access to Gresty Road from its junction with Nantwich Road down to the Crewe Road/Jack Mills Way roundabout.

Cheshire Highways says it will try to ensure access for vehicles to businesses, including Crewe Alex's stadium and car park.

The diversion route onto the A500 is via Weston Road and David Whitby Way.

Cheshire East Highways said: "We understand there is no right time to undertake this work, however the scheme has been carefully planned to minimise disruption to local residents, businesses and members of the travelling public."
