Wheels on parade as Crewe Record Fair adopts 'Soul and Scooters' theme

By Gwyn Griffiths 6th Oct 2021

IT won't be just the vinyl spinning at a popular record fair that returns to Crewe this weekend.

John Beddows, organiser of Crewe Record Fair, is staging another event at Crewe Market Hall on Sunday (October 10) when the theme will be 'Soul and Scooters'.

John, who has struck a chord for the vinyl revival with a series of fairs over the summer, has invited local scooter clubs to parade their machines and add to the atmosphere.

His previous fairs have attracted hundreds of vinyl collectors to the hall.

He said: "We are hoping to be joined by members of the local scooter clubs who will arrive at the Market Hall at about 11.30am and park up by the Lyceum Theatre for people to view and take photos."

John runs Backtrax Music business, a popular stall at Sandbach Market on Saturdays, hopes to make Crewe Record Fair a regular bi-monthly fair.

The music for the day will be provided by soul DJs from The Cat radio station.

The event starts at 10am and it is free entry.
