POLICE searching for missing Crewe man Josef Skrdlant have issued an appeal in his native tongue.

Josef has not been seen since he left his home near Queens Park on foot on the morning of Friday, February 19.

The 51-year-old is originally from the Czech Republic and Cheshire Police have now released an appeal in the Czech language in the hope that it brings someone forward locally who may have information about his whereabouts.

Officers have also revealed Josef has links with the Bradford area as well as Birmingham, from where he recently moved back to Crewe from.

Police have confirmed the North West underwater marine unit returned to Queens Park this morning (Wednesday) to search the waters of the lake. The water course was also a focus of attention in the investigation last Friday.

Today officers extended their search to the fairway and undergrowth at the adjacent Queens Park Golf Course.

Josef is around 5ft 2 tall, of a proportionate build with a tanned complexion. He has brown eyes and black receding hair that is greying, while he was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and blue shoes.

Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch with police by ringing 101, quoting IML 922551.
