Two men carrying weapons arrested following 'altercation' by West End shop
Cheshire Police officers have arrested two men for the possession of offensive weapons, following an "altercation" by a West End shop.
On Sunday 16 July, Cheshire Police officers were called to reports of an incident in the area of Bargain Booze, West Street.
Around 6pm, response taser units arrived at the scene to find two males carrying weapons.
Officers detained the two men, while searching the Bargain Booze vicinity.
Police found a hidden metal bar and a pole, arresting both men for possession of offensive weapons.
Officers confirmed no casualties were reported in the incident.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 6pm, on Sunday (July 16), dispatch received calls of an altercation on West Street, involving a group carrying weapons.
"Response taser units were deployed to the area and 2x males were detained and searched in the Bargain Booze vicinity.
"Officers found a metal bar and a pole concealed so both were arrested for possession of offensive weapons.
"Luckily no casualties were reported."
