Two deliberate open fires started in Crewe over the weekend - at similar times

Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service put out two open fires at similar times in Crewe over the weekend - both believed to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters first attended reports of a small fire on Brierley Street, Crewe on Saturday (April 23).
One fire engine from Crewe attended the scene that was reported to Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service at 4:20pm.
The Crew extinguished a small fire involving rubbish on open land using a hose reel.
The following day Sunday (April 24), firefighters were notified of a small, but more serious fire in land off Dunwoody Way, Crewe at 4:16pm.

Again, one fire engine from Crewe attended the scene. The fire was in a wooded area, close to McDonald's fast food restaurant.
The firefighters used a water backpack and a hose jet reel to put out the flames.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Anyone with any information about this incident is urged to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
The spokesperson confirmed that both Crewe fires are believed to have been started deliberately.
Elsewhere in Crewe, an intentional back garden fire that was causing an issue with smoke had to be extinguished by Crewe firefighters on Saturday night (April 23).
The incident on Brookside Green, Crewe was reported to Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service at 9pm.
Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service dealt with a number of deliberate fires across Cheshire over the weekend.
Incidents were reported in Ellesmere Port, Runcorn and Warrington.
