CREWE'S lights display may be off but the festive trees and lights are in place as the town prepares to celebrate Christmas during difficult times.

Lumen was due to start at the end of this month as a themed lights trail over several weeks to replace the normal one-off lights show.

But the pandemic ensured even that had to be shelved although Crewe Town Council hopes it can stage an alternative event in the new year.

But there is still a festive feel around in the town centre with trees and lights up in Memorial Square and Town Square, as captured by local photographer Jonathan White.
