Lancashire trio arrested after drugs and weapons found in car in Crewe
Three Lancashire men have been arrested after class A and B drugs, a knife and a hammer, were all found by police in a car in Crewe.
On Monday 16 October, Cheshire Police noticed a car suspiciously parked up on Vernon Way, close to Crewe town centre.
At 1am, officers located three men inside the vehicle, with one man running away from the scene who was detained by officers further up the road.
The vehicle was searched with police finding a knife and a hammer concealed inside.
Class A and B drugs were also found. The three men, all from Burnley, were arrested.
The vehicle was seized for being used in crime. An investigation into the incident is underway.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Three males were arrested in the early hours of Monday 16 October, after a vehicle search.
"At 1am, response patrol officers sighted a vehicle parked up on Vernon Way.
"Two males were inside the car and a third male ran away from officers.
"He was detained by a second unit further up the road.
"The vehicle was searched and a hammer was found concealed in the car along with a knife.
"Class A and B drugs were also found so the three males from Burnley were all arrested.
"The vehicle was seized for being used in crime, and the investigation is continuing."
