Thief steals hundreds of pounds in Crewe museum charity box raid

Cheshire Police officers are urgently appealing for information - after a thief stole hundreds of pounds from a Crewe museum's charity box.
The incident at Crewe Heritage Centre, Vernon Way, happened at around 11:45am on Sunday 7 May.
A Perspex charity box at the Crewe museum was 'smashed open' - with an individual taking between £200 and £300 worth of donations.

These donations had been made by visitors to Crewe Heritage Centre.
CCTV footage of the incident was passed on to Cheshire Police - with enquiries currently 'ongoing.'
On Wednesday 10 May, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 1.40pm on Sunday 7 May police were called to reports of a theft at Crewe Heritage Centre.
"The caller reported that an unknown offender had smashed open a Perspex charity box and stolen a quantity of cash.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information id asked to contact Cheshire Police on its website quoting IML-1541711."
A number of Crewe Heritage Centre visitors have since made a donation to the venue following the charity box raid.
