A Crewe pub taken over by new management last winter is turning itself into a "community" venue, hosting live "original" entertainment every month.

The Cheshire Inn, Nantwich Road, has been operated by Crewe landlady, Zoe Wilkinson, and team, since November 2022.

Since taking on The Cheshire Inn, Zoe has make an effort to move it away from being just a party venue.

The Cheshire Inn now hosts live music from a local artist on the first Saturday of every month (Nub News).

"I grew up Gainsborough Road in Crewe and have lived here all my life. The Cheshire Inn is the first pub I have run. I used to drink in here previously," she said.

Zoe told Nub News: "This pub has changed under my ownership. I have brought back quiz nights, karaoke and live music from original, local bands.

"I have been trying to make The Cheshire Inn a community pub rather than just a party venue.

"We have redecorated the venue with lighter colours. This has made it look more attractive to customers.

"There is an aim to get ourselves a defibrillator on the front of the pub, which the whole community can use.

"We are fundraising for this currently and hope to get it in 2024."
