WISTASTON Jubilee Tennis Club started their South and Mid Cheshire Winter League campaign in impressive style.

The club's A team beat Holmes Chapel A in their first match on their courts behind Wistaston Memorial Hall and Community Centre.

The return to competitive action follows the abandonment of 2020 South and Mid Cheshire Summer League because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Wistaston A face competition from Congleton B, Alsager B, Holmes Chapel A and Winsford A in Division Two.

After the opening day victory Wistaston A team captain George Raiswell said: "It's great to be back playing matches against other teams."

Wistaston's B team are in Division Three where they will face Wrenbury A, Hartford B, Kelsall, Holmes Chapel B and Alsager C.

They also are running a C side in Division 5 where their oppoents are Alsager D, Cuddington D, Congleton E and Nantwich B.

The top team and bottom team in each division are promoted or relegated respectively and from January 2021 these teams will form the Spring league.
