Teenager, 17, faces charges over Crewe town centre attack

A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with an attack which left a 50-year-old man with serious injuries in Crewe.

The 17-year-old faces charges of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the incident on Sunday, May 17.

He appeared at Chester Crown Court, via a video link, on Wednesday and was remanded in custody and to appear again at the same court on Monday 19 October.

The alleged attack took place in Flag Lane and it was said the victim was hit with a bike seat as well as being punched and kicked by a group of five teens.

The man flagged down a car for help and was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
