Sydney in Crewe has second highest infection rate for Covid-19 in Cheshire

AN area of Crewe has one of the current highest Covid-19 infection rates in Cheshire.
The rolling rate of those testing positive for coronavirus in Sydney and Gateway is 720.9 per 100,000 population, three times the rate for Cheshire East as a whole.
There were 41 cases of the disease notified in Sydney and Gateway in the seven days up to last Friday, November 13.
In Cheshire only the neighbourhood of Whitby and Stanney Woods in Ellesmere Port had a higher rate with 756.6 cases per 100,000.
The prevalence of Covid-19 is considerably higher in Sydney than in other areas of Crewe. The next highest rate is the Leighton neighbourhood with 299.4 cases per 100,000 population and then the Crewe Mill Street and College area with a rate of 259.4.
The latest Covid-19 figures are revealed in an incidence map showing neighbourhoods published by the government, which shades areas with the highest rolling rate of 400 cases or more per 100,000 in purple.
Areas shaded dark blue have 201 or more cases per 100,000 and lighter blue for cases of 101 or more.
