Stephenson Browne has unveiled a new 2026 "Pick 'N' Mix" service supporting self-managing landlords, as significant reforms under the Renters' Rights Act (RRA) come into force from May 1.

The well-established independent property specialist, founded in 1999 and operating across Cheshire and Staffordshire, says the scale of legislative change will place added pressure on landlords who handle their own compliance and tenant management.

With branches in Crewe, Alsager, Sandbach, Congleton and Newcastle-under-Lyme, the firm is positioning the new initiative as a practical solution for those who want to stay in control, but not carry the full administrative burden alone.

The Renters' Rights Act introduces a series of new requirements that must be implemented throughout the year.

For many landlords, understanding what applies, when it applies and how to action it correctly will demand both time and attention.

Stephenson Browne's 'Pick 'N' Mix' service acknowledges while full management remains the preferred route for some, it is not always realistic for every landlord (Photo: Supplied).

Stephenson Browne's approach allows landlords to select only the areas where they need professional input, rather than committing to a fully managed service.

Services available under the 2026 Pick 'N' Mix offer include issuing the Renters Reform Tenant Guidance Document at £144 including VAT, and registering landlords on the new Private Rented Sector database at £180 including VAT per property.

Ongoing services such as property inspections can also be arranged as required.

Stephenson Browne acknowledges while full management remains the preferred route for some, it is not always realistic for every landlord.

The tailored model provides a middle ground, helping landlords remain compliant, protect their investment and reduce the risk of costly mistakes, without giving up control of day-to-day management.

With the 2026 deadline approaching, Stephenson Browne says the message is straightforward: preparation now will prevent problems later.
