Business 'booming' for new Greek ghost kitchen delivering across Crewe and Nantwich

Business is "booming" for a new Greek ghost kitchen delivering across the Crewe and Nantwich area, a growing business trend across the UK.
'The Athenian' has been operating inside a takeaway kitchen on Nantwich Road since April, available for delivery orders on Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
A 'ghost kitchen,' also known as a 'cloud kitchen,' are delivery-only food establishments operating without a physical storefront or dining area, within another venue.

The Athenian is a Greek food franchise from 'Growth Kitchen,' a UK-based food-tech company, operating a network of ghost kitchens, designed to help restaurant brands expand their delivery operations.
An Athenian spokesperson told Nub News: "Bringing The Athenian to Crewe has been a really good decision, we have seen a huge influx in orders and are confident in the ghost kitchen model.
"When starting this in Crewe, I was initially skeptical of whether it was going to work. Now in our sixth week, we have a growing customer base and glowing reviews.
"Due to the success of The Athenian, we have significantly expanded kitchen opening times, with lunch orders booming.
"We are now looking at having more brands within the kitchen. Staffing is no problem, you can train people within a day or two.
"This model totally takes the stress away for a takeway.
"Growth Kitchen do the marketing, the orders keep coming in and I get my payment at the end of every week. It is so good."

The Athenian has a score of 4.8 out of five on Uber Eats and 4.3 on Deliveroo, with it launching on Just Eat soon.
Serving a variety of wraps, including chicken gyros and grilled halloumi (in small to large options), The Athenian also serves the likes of oregano fries, moussaka and courgette fritters, along with a range of Greek sauces.
Northern manager at Growth Kitchen, Rodrigo Arguello, told Nub News: "We franchise restaurants for delivery-only across the UK, bringing the biggest brands into a virtual form, a 'ghost kitchen.'
"It is a growing concept that is very successful. Bringing restaurants into underutilised kitchens, already set up. Whether that is in hotels, takeaways and more, this model brings modern solutions.
"One example of this now in Crewe is The Athenian, located inside a takeaway on Nantwich Road.

"Trade has been very good for The Athenian so far. The overheads are already there, with the takeaway already paying staff. The ghost kitchen brings another brand to this venue, along with another income."
"Ideally, a kitchen can handle a maximum of five brands. I always try to stick to a maximum of three, allowing operations to maintain at the highest levels."
The Athenian is open for delivery orders 11.30am to 10pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 11.30am to 11pm (Friday and Saturday).
