In response to the increasing numbers of people who need a quieter, calmer shopping experience, owner and manager of United Carpets, Nantwich Road, Eddie Davies, has introduced 'quiet hours.'

'Quiet Hours' are becoming increasingly popular in retail, a time where there is no music, the lights are reduced, and customer numbers are limited.  

Eddie told Nub News: "We will be making ourselves available outside of the usual store hours, to open by appointment for people who need a less busy environment to browse.

"Our radio will be switched off and lighting limited where possible, and no other customers will be in the store."  

Customers who wish to visit outside of the stores advertised times need to make an appointment.

This will then ensure that there will be no unexpected or intrusive sounds or lighting during their browsing. 

Eddie added: "I am hoping it will help people who have sensory sensitivities and help to alleviate the pressure and stress of shopping for them." 

Outside of the quiet hours, United Carpets is open 9am to 6pm (Monday to Wednesday), 9am to 8pm (Thursday), 9am to 6pm (Friday and Saturday) and 10.30am to 4.30pm (Sunday).
