Students urged to break silence as Crewe college marks Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week
By Ryan Parker 10th Jun 2026
Crewe Engineering & Design UTC staff are preparing to spotlight men's mental health with a week of awareness activity running from 15 to 21 June.
The week aims to challenge stigma and encourage early conversations among young people.
This initiative comes as part of a wider push within the West Street college to normalise discussions around emotional wellbeing, particularly for young men, often less likely to seek support or speak openly about stress, anxiety, or pressure.
Teachers are encouraging Crewe students to adopt small, structured habits designed to support mental resilience.

One suggested exercise asks students to note down one positive moment each evening before bed, helping to shift attention away from daily pressures.
A second weekly reflection invites students to record something they felt proud of, reinforcing self-recognition and progress over time.
Crewe UTC Staff say the intention is not to overcomplicate mental health support, but to make it accessible through consistent, low-effort routines that build awareness over time.
Alongside the awareness campaign, the town centre college continues to deliver a full academic programme in English, Maths, and Science at Key Stage 4, alongside specialist engineering teaching delivered by industry-experienced staff.
