An established British bistro and cheese and wine shop in Crewe is encouraging people to come down and try its "excellent" product range and "exceptional" service.

The Cheese Corner, located inside Crewe Market Hall, has been trading since August 2022 and recently launched on Deliveroo and Just Eat.

Operated by Oliver Bailey since January, the business has seen a total restructuring across the past 12 months, bringing positive change.

Trading seven days a week, The Cheese Corner offers a wide selection of local British cheeses and wines, cheese/grazing boards, toasties and breakfast options.

Retail business manager, Oliver, told Nub News: "The Cheese Corner is a fine British bistro and cheese shop, offering unique, quality items seen nowhere else in the local area.

"We are a 50/50 business here at Crewe Market Hall, offering retail and food and beverage.

"The Cheese Corner is the official store front for Joseph Heler Cheese and the Cheshire Cheese Company, specialising in fine British cheeses.

"All of our cheeses are made locally at our linked factory in Hatherton, Nantwich.

"For our shop, we offer a core range of 14 Cheshire Cheese lines, with two festive specials at the moment.

"Here, there is also a wide range of gifting options and wines, including nine reds, 12 whites and six different rosés.

"We hold four different sparkling wines, two champagnes, four proseccos and launched mulled wine this November for the festive season.

"For our food and beverage side, everything we do is cheese-based as that is 0our speciality. We are very popular for our cheese/grazing boards.

"Our toasties are also really popular, along with quality wines where people come for a luxury glass."

The Cheese Corner is made up of a team of three, with the Market Hall trader employing another two temporary employees for Christmas.

Oliver said: "Crewe Market Hall is an incredibly diverse, vibrant and social venue that is utilised for some fantastic purposes.

"It is an amazing place that brings the local community together, especially over the festive period.

"As a customer, I use the market hall all the time with my family. I love the fact we can all come and order something different to the same table.

"I love it when I am taking our food to tables and I see the likes of burgers, pizzas, noodles, desserts. It adds such a different dynamic.

Oliver worked as operations manager at Crewe Market Hall last winter, before swiftly moving on to managing The Cheese Corner in January.

He added: "I have a really rich retail background, working for the likes of Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer.

"As soon as I knew The Cheese Corner was in a restructuring period and looking for a new manager I jumped at the opportunity, it was the perfect job for me.

"The Cheese Corner has done tremendous amounts of work across the last 12 months - it is now an unrecognisable business from when I took it on.

"Our standards have been lifted, our layout has been enhanced and we have increased our retail range offering by 90 per cent - and wine offering by 60 per cent.

"We have done full staff training on everything, ensuring everyone knows all the key information about each item we sell to customers.

The Cheese Corner is open 9.30am to 1.30pm (Monday and Tuesday), 9.30am to 6pm (Wednesday), 9.30am to 9pm (Thursday), 9.30am to 10pm (Friday and Saturday) and 10.30am to 6pm (Sunday) (Oliver Bailey).

"I am really lucky at The Cheese Corner as every team member really cares about their job. We all go above and beyond for our customers.
