STAFF at a South Cheshire sports coaching company are aiming to complete 10 million steps in a massive lockdown charity fundraising effort.
The members of Sports Coaching Group raised over £800 for the NHS and a local charity during the first lockdown with a running and cycling challenge.
Now they plan to increase the overall distance by getting all 40 of the firm's staff involved to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Early Year's Lead Coach George Raiswell, who lives in Wistaston, said "During the first lockdown, as a team we managed 1,000km running and 2,000km cycling and raised over £800 for the NHS and Visyon.
"We wanted to up our game and encourage our whole team of over 40 staff to keep active during the second lockdown".
Sports Coaching Group, based at Sandbach, has been actively involved with promoting sport and fitness in primary schools across the region for over 10 years and recognises the importance of fitness and taking care of mental wellbeing.
Managing Director, Ross Kesteven, said: "Ten million steps is a huge task but the team are amazing as always and are encouraging each other, even the office staff have joined in the challenge and are walking to work to up their step count."
